This fabulous read is chock full of advice on budgeting, health, growing your own food, wealth, making meals for pennies, and making the holidays homemade and special. You’ll find ideas for going DIY, whether you are new to it or just looking for new ones to make and bake your way into a greener more frugal life. This is a great book to have on your bookshelf. From the publisher: This book is so fabulous. I’ve barely scratched the surface of everything it contains. It looks small but it’s packed full of everyday useful advice that is easy to follow, even for the non-DIYer. Learn how to: • Ditch the lawn and raise organic veggies • Cook healthy meals for pennies • Eco-clean your house with lemons and lavender • Cure minor maladies from the kitchen cabinet • Join a seed sharing community garden • Save big dollars with small repairs • Organize a free market • Put the “happy” back in your holidays
There are some great recipes in this book including cookies, cakes, dandelion wine, gravies, soups, cheese sauce, toffee apples, ginger cookies, pepper steak, potato pancakes, broccoli pasta, jams and pickled vegetables. Is your stomach grumbling yet? Mine sure is! There’s even directions for making your own yogurt. Wow! The dandelion wine intrigues me mainly because I have heard of it but never seen or tasted it. I can’t wait to start making and baking.
