To keep the beast at bay, I try to dress it up with cute and whimsical garden accents, some of which I like to make myself. So this week I’ve been on the lookout for easy DIY projects with a green, upcycling kind of vibe. Here’s what I found: The above teacup bird feeder is both practical and whimsical. Teacups are easy to find at yard sales and flea markets and I’m sure I have a few mismatched and semi broken ones lying around that I wouldn’t mind turning into a bird feeder or two. You can get the complete tutorial over at Caps Creations. The Better Homes and Gardens site has some cute DIY garden accents including awning striped pots, mosaic pots, colored glass votives, tile edging and easy tin can luminaries.

I also found numerous garden crafts at The Artistic Garden and Garden Fresh Living but the one I really, really fell in love with is on a site called Shrimp Salad Circus. These Antique Spoon Plant Markers are very crafty and ther vintage nature really fits my style, plus I know I have some old spoons somewhere…if I could just find that darn box. Click on the link for the tutorial. I am off to look for my spoons after I search for some more garden crafts online.
