Here’s how to make them.
Materials:
Cedar wardrobe savers Paint Paint brush Bits of lace from your stash Tacky glue Spray adhesive Magnets
Next » Begin by painting the cedar blocks with acrylic paint. I needed to do a couple of coats for nice even coverage. Let them dry completely. Next » Gather some bits of lace from your scraps pile. You could also use bits of fabric, rik rak, trim, or anything at all. Spray the wrong side with spray adhesive and attached it to the front of a wood piece. Next » Once dry, use the tacky glue to attach the end pieces of the lace to the back of the wood. You can skip this step and trim your bits to fit the front but I wanted the wrap around look at the top and bottom of my magnets. Next » After the tacky glue is dry, attached your magnets to the back of each piece of wood. You can either use magnet strips or the circle magnets (I used strips). Allow the glue to dry. Next » Here they are ready to go on the refrigerator! You can use any piece of wood that you find in your searches for this project. You could even use plastic or game pieces. When thrift store shopping, and crafting, allow yourself to play around with ideas and think of new ways to use ordinary materials in unordinary ways. I would love to see some different materials you’ve used in unconventional ways! Leave some suggestions, comments, or links.
