Book Page Star
Who needs a wreath for the front door when you could instead have a giant star made of book pages? I love the author’s idea to suspend an ornament for Christmas decorating, and I think it would be just as easy to embellish the star for every season and holiday.
Book Page Wreath
Okay, maybe YOU need a wreath for your front door, lol! I love how neutral the black and white book pages allow the wreath to be. I really want to spook it up for Halloween!
Book Page Lampshade
You do have to choose a book with pages made from high-quality paper for this project, or it will yellow over time, regardless of the quality of your sealant. Also be careful about the temperature of your light bulb!
Bookshelf Quilt
Quilts are ABSOLUTELY decor! This bookshelf quilt is fancy enough for company, and shows everyone that even when you’re asleep, you’re still dreaming about books.
Bunting
A bunting made from book covers is an adorable addition to a child’s bedroom or playroom. For bonus points, craft it for a young child’s birthday party decoration first, and THEN put it in their bedroom!
Decoupaged Storage
You can decoupage ANYTHING with book pages! It’s one of my favorite decorating secret tricks. I love how the author of this tutorial also decoupaged additional embellishments to make her canisters even cuter.
Framed Bookshelves
I LOVE this concept! Pick a beautiful vintage picture frame, add wood shelving behind it, and mount it to your wall. Because books ARE art!
Handmade Bookshelf
A single-shelf bookshelf is the perfect solution to neatly organize books within a young child’s reach. This project can be done with beginning woodworking skills and a lot of enthusiasm!
Hardback Book Photo Frame
I love how the author doesn’t utilize any additional embellishments, but instead relies on the natural beauty of the hardback book covers. This would be a good way to use up discarded library editions of books or old reference books.
Hidden Book Storage Box
I LOVE sneaky storage ideas! Nobody will know that your most secret treasures (or rather, your extra remote control batteries) are hidden in plain sight inside this repurposed book.
Literary Destinations Sign
You could make a full-size sign for your garden, but I love this miniature version that’s perfect for a tabletop or bookshelf. You can pick all your favorite literary destinations!
Old TV Bookshelf
Because there’s not really a solid eco-friendly way to dispose of an old TV anyway, so you might as well upcycle it into something you WILL use. This project is very beginner-friendly, since all you need is an appetite for destruction!
Painted Book Concrete Pavers
Concrete pavers painted to look like your favorite books are a fantastic way to incorporate some literary fun into your landscaping. If you don’t want to use them outdoors, however, these sturdy pavers also make great bookends.
Quilted Book Floor Cushions
If you love to sprawl across the floor while you read your favorite book, why not also sprawl across the floor ON your favorite book! For bonus points, upcycle an old couch cushion for this project.
Wooden Pallet Book Nook
A lot of wooden pallets are chemically treated, and you don’t know where they’ve been, so I’m not unreservedly recommending this tutorial. BUUUUUT if you know the provenance of your wooden pallets and you know they weren’t exposed to anything sketchy, they do make it easy to assemble lots of handy furniture pieces, including this cute little book nook! Another option would be to put the book nook outside, where the pallets might still be sketchy, but they’ve got a lot of fresh air to counter them. P.S.
