What You’ll Need:
Strips of recycled paper folded into stars. Different widths and lengths will create different sized stars. I cut, or tear, my strips about 1/4 inch by 10 inches and then vary it from there. Needle Invisible beading cord or thread
Pop in a movie or listen to a nice record and fold yourself some origami stars. I made 10 for my banner but you can make as many as or as little as you would like. Once you get the hang of it they’re addicting to make. Once you have as many stars folded as you like, cut a length of invisible cord about 11 to 12 inches long. Make a knot at one end making sure to leave a long enough tail so you can hang your banner. Then, thread your needle with the cord and pierce through the bottom of your first star. Poke the needle through to the top.
Pull your cording through the top and remove the needle. Then, make a knot about 1/4 or 1/2 inch from the exit point of the star. This will keep the stars separated and will allow them to hang nicely. Continue stringing your stars and knotting your cord until you’ve reached the end of your cord.
Make a final knot, leaving a tail at the end, and you’re finished! String it up anywhere you want to add a little cheer. Make your banners as long or as short as you’d like and string a few together to make a nice arrangement. Do you have any origami projects that you like to do using recycled paper?
